Are you a fan of the Shoegaze? Did you dig a band called Ride as much as I did? Well then, heads up: As mentioned before, former Ride co-frontman and guitarist Mark Gardener is embarking on a bit of the solo-performer action, and he’ll be doing Ride songs along with his newest stuff on a few U.S. dates this spring. Rumor has it that one of those shows will be here in Boston on April 15th, but it’s as yet unconfirmed. In the meantime, check out the brand new Mark Gardener microsite for the latest info.
After a long wait, a brand-spankin’ new version of Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware has finally been released for free download. It’s version 6.0, and it searches your PC for all the latest ad-bots and web-surfing cookies that might be running without your knowledge. If you’ve got Kazaa, or any similar file-sharing services installed, or even if you’re just a hardcore surfer, there’s a chance you’ve got some kind of sneaky data-grabbers hanging out on your hard drive. Yank ’em with this super-fine utility. Hey, did I mention it’s free?
Uh oh, cuteness-overload alert. My sister and brother-in-law have a brand new Kitty-Cam running motion-detection software and pointed at the frequent resting place of their cats, Homer and Sippy. There’s no way I’ll get a web-cam… simply out of fear that Hazel will use it as part of her plan to take over the world!
As you may have noticed by the link on the right, I just posted a bunch of photos from the inaugural outing of the Boston World Explorer’s Foundation. Next trip: A tour of Beacon Hill. Join us?
