Web-Slinging and Web-Crashing…
How big is the Spider-Man movie going to be? Well, judging by the fact that the ticket ordering site at Fandango.com has been down for hours, I’m betting it’ll be a record-breaker. The advance sales for this weekend seemed to have crashed ’em hard. (and yes, I know… there’s a wild one loose in the theater…rah!… die promo die!). Glad I got my tix last night. 😉
Also on the Comic-Book Movie Tip…
OOoooooOO… I’m geeking out. Go here now, and watch the new Hulk teaser. Eric Bana was great in Black Hawk Down, and I just rented Chopper for further proof of his acting, uh, chops. Ang Lee is one of my favorite directors. I mean… Ice Storm? Crouching Tiger? Sense and Sensibility? Eat Drink Man Woman? The man can jump between genres at will and pull off a masterpiece. Jennifer Connelly? Hello! Just give us a Ferrigno cameo, and you’ve got gold.
the Week o’ Nostalgia Continues…
Two years ago we meet at the Abbey Lounge. A gathering of Throwing Muses and Kristin Hersh fans on the day before a magical reunion show. One year later, we’re married, throwing a full-on rock and roll reception at Lilli’s (now 608) on Somerville Ave. (At one point there was even a chance Kristin would play the reception, but scheduling kept her away).
Flash forward another year to now. 2002. Two nights ago we hit the Abbey Lounge for a show. Who was there? Our friend John, who gave me his extra Elliott Smith ticket 2 years ago, on the night I realized she was the one. Last night we head to 608 for yet another show. Who was playing? Well, Kristin Hersh of course. Joining us was Hollis, without whom I probably wouldn’t have met Amie in the first place. One more week until our wedding anniversary. This is all just too cool to capture.
