Ted Comes to Town / Marathon Monitoring

Heads up, Boston…
Not only are Ted Leo and his Pharmacists playing the second of two shows at the Middle East tonight, but I just found out he’ll be performing acoustic on Air America Radio the following morning. He’s part of Morning Sedition‘s first-ever road trip, broadcasting live from the Someday Cafe in Somerville. (thanks Keith, via Catbirdseat, via The Big Ticket)
Lucky me, I needed to burn a vacation day before the end of the year, so I already had tomorrow off anyway. Although, really, the chances of my waking up to get there at 6am are pretty slim, especially after a long, late night of rock. But hey, if Mr. Leo can do it, I suppose I can try, too.
My pals Micki and Jason are, at this very moment, on a trip in Hawaii. Don’t be jealous, though… they’re there to run their very first marathon. I’m still amazed at the training they’ve gone through (and the AIDS fundraising they’ve accomplished.. to help out, go here). Not sure I could ever be quite that motivated. Getting on the treadmill a few times a week is about as much as I can muster sometimes.
The marathon itself kicks off on Sunday morning, December 12th, at 5am Honolulu time (10am EST), and you’ll be able to track Micki & Jason’s progress thanks to little chips in their shoes. On Sunday, from the main page of the marathon site, just search for Jason Carlin (#7243) and Michelle Krimmel (#7355). Good luck, you two.
Is TiVoToGo really about to launch? Here’s hoping…
