Mp3s: Aberdeen City live in Allston

Following up on Friday’s Aberdeen City post, here’s a recording of their night-ending set at Allston’s Great Scott on Saturday. The setlist includes songs from their new ‘Sixty Lives‘ EP and their upcoming debut full-length ‘The Freezing Atlantic‘, as well as a new one (‘Final Bow‘), and the recorded-but-not-released ‘This Is Our Problem Tonight‘. The mix is a little off on the first song, but improves pretty quickly, and the song ‘Stay Still‘ had some technical difficulties, so I’ll spare the band the spreading of that one. Wait until you hear the album version, though… so, so good. Enjoy the rest…

They’ll be at the Mercury Lounge in NYC tonight if you’re up for it.
Speaking of which, I’ll take this opportunity to let any NYC-area ‘Nac readers know that the band I play drums in, Charlene, is playing this coming Saturday night at The Trash Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We’ll be on at 10 o’clock, sandwiched between our good friends The Broken River Prophet and Polyvinyl Record’s Picastro (who promise ‘guest appearances by members of Mercury Rev and Home’). Early arrival will not only be rewarded with the sure-to-be-great BRP set, but with open bar from 9 to 10. Drink up, so by the time Charlene hits the stage at 10, we’ll sound even better. And if someone could keep an eye on how many I throw back, my fellow band members and I would muchly appreciate it. If they’ve got Brooklyn Lager on tap, I’m in serious trouble.
